Come on in, the water's fine!

Led by none other than John Olguin himself, this year's Polar Bears swim went off with nary a hitch. Olguin kicked off the event with the "Grunion Dance," a tribute to San Pedro's grunion, which nest every year at Cabrillo Beach.
Here are some snapshots from the event, and a 30-second video clip for those of you not willing to brave the water:

Really, I would have gone for a Polar Bear swim, but my walker doesn't work too well on sand.
Or, I didn't finally get out of bed until 12:15 PM today.
Or, I needed to save my energy to be pushed around the Cabrillo Marina in my wheelchair, by my wife.
I don't think making a New Year's Resolution to create fewer excuses was in order for this year.
Thanks for the great photos and video, Banditos Yanquis!

If you contact us before next year's event, we will have a couple strong Polar Bears carry you into the water.
No excuses!

way to bring this blog into the 21st century banditos with the videos! I like it.
anonymous,
thanks, but i've been using video on this blog for years.
Thanks Kim,
I hope to be well away from both the walker and wheelchair by next New Year's day.
Unfortunately at this point, it would probably take a few more than "a couple" of strong Polar Bears, but I am changing that problem, too.
Sretan Nova Godina!
