Toto has left the building...
Wizard of Oz style winds have been battering the point for the last few days. i was surprised that no cows or light trucks landed in the yard, and that the dog is still here. really, it's been that windy. i swear. it's calmed down now, but the pollen and dust from a thousand miles away remain, and it makes for sniffly breathing all around.
usually gale force winds give us a clear sky and full frontal view of Catalina, but this time it just made for an angry sea and an angry layer of haze over everything. odd, cold, powerful - this is spring? soon the weekend park crowds will surround us and we'll be dreaming of our quiet, foggy winter again.
and what's up with the obsessive jogging, people? i left the house at 4:50am and some crazy bastard was running by, sweating and panting and on the verge of cardiac arrest. it wasn't one of the usual jogging nuts, either (skeletor, blondie, shaving man), it was an otherwise normal looking guy, but he doesn't fool me. normal people don't jog, and they certainly don't jog before 5am.

i feel the need to tell our good readers (if there are any) who skeletor, blondie, and shaving man are. wait, i actually don't know who blondie is, but that would describe many of those runners. skeletor and shaving man really deserve whole blog entries in and of themselves, but you can ALWAYS find skeletor out there running around in his blue suit and red ski cap. it's amazing that he has another job besides jogging, but apparently he is a math wiz and some kind of cat scholar. and the shaving guy is quite a site to behold: he jogs in one place on the corner whilst frantically shaving his sweaty face and throat with a plastic razor.
blondie is actually a couple of people, one i haven't seen in a while, and the other is a young girl who is very skinny but an obsessive runner. i suspect she may have body issues, but then, who doesn't.
body issues are krunk!
