Avian Flu Awareness Project at The Loft, Tomorrow Night!
A project that I may or may not have something to do with... is opening at The Loft tomorrow night, during 1st Thursday.
Here's the details:
The Avian Flu Awareness Project
This 1st Thursday, November 3rd, at The Loft Studios in San Pedro, the Avian Flu Awareness Project will initiate the beta test of their public awareness campaign. Representatives will be on hand to theorize, explain and otherwise de-mystify the truth about Avian Flu. During the reception, from 6-9 PM, visitors will have their questions answered by Avian Flu Awareness staff and receive free medical face masks and our literature outlining the key issues and questions of the potential Avian Influenza pandemic. Large scale wall diagrams, inspired by the instructional diagrams that accompany the products and media that surround the phenomenon of the current panic will be on display.
Right now, as you are reading this, medicines are being stockpiled, billions are being spent, the brows of scientists the world over are sweating, somewhere a government employee is detailing policies for quarantines, sick birds are flying in the air across Europe and Asia... Actions and reactions are occurring, the policies of governments and drug companies about a normally minor illness have boiled to the top of the media cycle. Like Schrodinger's Kitten, we all now live in the duality of uncertainty that lies at the intersection of events that will lead to pandemic or no pandemic.
What does this all mean? Is this Y2K all over again, or is humanity getting ready to absorb a sucker punch from nature that will divide us into two camps, the living and the dead? The Avian Flu Awareness Project addresses the mystery of potential pandemic and our collective experience of waiting and worrying about the uncertainties of the coming days and months.
