First Thursday tonight

Ahh...

Although it's damn near freezing (I snapped a plastic fork cutting butter this morning - and it was left out to soften!), we're not expecting rain and 1st Thursday is tonight. So why throw on your badass Cosby sweater and enjoy yourself with a stroll through the studios and galleries of downtown San Pedro.

There's a few fun things going on tonight, here's a brief listing.

At the Warschaw Galley (corner of Pacific & 6th) - a twofer, with artist Susan Joseph has a solo show featuring both drawings and video work. In the other room Angels Gate Cultural Center's Network of Culture and Media presents Islam, Difference & the Erotic: an Indonesian Case an evening of poetry and discussion with Laksmi Pamuntjak and
Goenawan Mohamed from Jakarta, Indonesia (Indonesia is the world's most populous Musilm country).

At Studio 478 (478 7th) - Solo show "Troubled times in Spooky City" paintings by Sandra Low.

At Walled City (309 7th, pictured) - Office Hours for the Avian Flu Awareness Project - come and get your free posters, quarantine door hangers and surgical masks!

Lastly, but not leastly - Los Punkinhedz are playing at the new Sacred Grounds @ 8PM - it's free and you can get both your Money Mark & Mike Watt fixes at the same time.

See you around!

Is that comment spam or some new kind of ad spam?

The above link is to some anti-Bush, anti-Iraq war film.

Watch to the middle part, when the bombing begins and they use the awesome Robotech battle theme as backing music.

I would prefer to call it electronic graffiti... Spam is so much more synonymous with "Click here to Buy CIALIS OR VIAGRA FOR $50"

oh, and kudos on catching the robotech reference...music from a cartoon about war seemed somehow appropriate.

I'd know that music anywhere. Electronic graffiti is appropriate for that link.
