It's been a slow, lazy summer in Pedro - not much news, not too much action. But not tomorrow, as Larry Mantle's Airtalk will be recorded right here at Fire Station #112 (the one on Harbor Blvd) for Friday's broadcast.

he Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach recently announced plans to drastically reduce emissions from ships, trucks and trains in the next 5 years. The plan would make the Southland ports the cleanest in the world, and Southland smog could be dramatically reduced. Can this really be accomplished? On Wednesday, August 2, at 3 p.m., AirTalk Host Larry Mantle will travel to the Port of L.A. to moderate a special panel discussion on the San Pedro Bay Clean Action Plan. The taping will be at Fire Station 112 at 444 S. Harbor Blvd. (at Berth 86) in San Pedro. The public is invited to attend. RSVP at airtalk@kpcc.org.

"Cleanest in the world" huh..I wonder what Noel Park's take on this is. Where is he -- haven't heard from him in awhile?? He would give the unsanitized analysis.
