Ponte Vista - the joy of raw data.
Two of our readers have come up with some handy dandy figures on the Ponte Vista development. These are the kind of independent analysts I like to hear from.
Reader M. Richards, a Pedro native who has just set up two new blogs, a Ponte Vista blog and a personal blog, ran the numbers and claims that the population density of Ponte Vista will be greater than Manhattan, with Ponte Vista's proposed 7,343 permanent residents having a final density of 76,378 persons per square mile to Manhattan's 66,940. He's got lots more numbers and how he came up with those in this post over at his new blog.
To add to the data pile, one of our many anonymous readers (I'm totally puzzled by the sheer number of anonymous posts on this blog - is it the "close to home" factor that makes people want to post anonymously?) has pointed out a list of expenditures by Bisno Development on lobbyists for the Ponte Vista Project in 2005 & 2006 from the LA City Ethics Comission:

let's not forget that he keeps asserting 101.5 million will be spent within a five mile radius each year. that number is exaggerated by at least 30-50 percent.
