Waterfront Master Plan Comment Period Commences
Gentlemen, start your bickering!
Today marks the beginning of a 66 day public comment period regarding the scaled back Waterfront Master Plan, as the beginning phase of the EIR. Will this never end? No. Your children will be clawing each others' eyes out over it, before anything of significance gets built. I'm still not seeing anything in the plan that's deserving of the amount of attention, hope or money that is proposed to be involved in this project. Where's the beef?
The first meeting is January 23rd at 6PM at the Crowne Plaza Hotel

If you have a lot to say or would like to lay out some kind of bullet point presentation, you should submit it to these guys, prior to the meeting. The process is about more that just watching bitterly divided folks take potshots at one another at a public meeting.

say goodbye to half of the project
let's see if we can get the Port to kill that ridiculous Red Car contract, and get a light rail line in the lineup.
Port should focus on better security and cleaner air.

Now all we have to do is get rid of the other half, and they can start again and do it right this time.
I'm so confused.
My wife and I spent time at the Peck Park Community Center viewing artists renderings of what the proposed harborfront development might look like.
We went to every station and talked with representatives who seemed very interested in hearing our comments.
We did what many other locals did and filled out comment sheets for each of the stations at the presentation.
We made comments about things we liked and didn't like.
I suggested that the small Tarawa Class Assualt Carrier in mothballs in Suisan Bay, be acquired and brought down to be a tourist anchor for the project.
Terri and I were also involved in other discussions and events concerning what we thought would be a possibly good development for the community.
Now we are told we have to repeat the entire process.
